For Emil, entrepreneurship has never been far away.

During his time at Copenhagen Business School and the GLOBE programme, Emil co-founded Graduateships, a platform designed to help students navigate career opportunities and connect with employers. The venture became an early opportunity to experience the realities of building a company from the ground up.

​

Following Graduateships, Emil joined Kapa.ai as a Founders Associate, working closely with the founding team during the company’s journey through Y Combinator. The experience provided firsthand exposure to one of the world’s most dynamic startup environments and deepened his interest in technology and artificial intelligence.

Emil subsequently joined McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst, where he advised clients across industries with a particular focus on technology and Generative AI. While the role offered broad exposure to strategic challenges, his long-term ambition remained company building and technology.

That ambition led him back into the startup ecosystem, first in Product at Encord, an AI infrastructure company helping organizations build and manage advanced AI systems, and later as Co-Founder of Balance in London.

​

Today, Emil is building Balance, a Y Combinator-backed startup focused on improving financial operations for small and medium-sized businesses through AI. By combining automation with accounting expertise, Balance aims to remove administrative burdens and allow business owners to focus on growth.

From student entrepreneur to startup operator, consultant, product builder, and founder, Emil’s journey reflects a willingness to explore different paths while remaining focused on creating and building new ventures. The international perspective and adaptability fostered through the GLOBE programme have proven valuable along the way, helping him navigate environments ranging from Copenhagen startups and global consulting to London’s fast-moving AI ecosystem.
