During our break between the two semesters a lot of the TREBLE students went traveling! The adventures took place all over the world including both Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Thailand, San Francisco and many many other places🙌🏼

As we settle in for the coming semester in Singapore here are a few of the highlights from these trips☀️

Join an informal online open window session hosted by TREBLE & GLOBE alumni ☕

The session will be run by three alumni who have completed the programme and are happy to share their experiences and perspectives.

There is no agenda, no presentation, and no preparation involved from either side. We will simply be there with a digital cup of coffee, available to answer any questions, doubts, or curiosities you may have about the programme.

You are welcome to ask about, for example:
• Experiences during the GLOBE/TREBLE programme
• The application process
• Financing and practical considerations
• What to expect before and during the exchange

Max from TREBLE batch #1 (CBS): What is your favorite part about TREBLE so far?
Can I say Chase Dining Hall?
Of course not only because of the food, but spending time there together with friends, having some good talks and family vibe dinners.

There will be many moments that will make this program very wholesome, and what it comes down to, I believe, is the people and the community.

So my favorite part is the social connections you form on this program. Whether it is with the people from your cohort that you meet multiple times per week in class, go out for games together, or travel to Puerto Rico. There are really so many opportunities to build long-lasting friendships with great people from around the world. I am very grateful that during my time at UNC I could engage with both our cohort and also other students on campus.

The friendships you build on TREBLE will be a part of your entire life and make your everyday class life, weekend trips, and reunions in 20 years a blast. Thank you to everyone who made this such a special journey.

Rohan from TREBLE batch #1 (SMU): What’s your favorite spot in Singapore that you look forward to showing the rest of the cohort?

One of my favourite spots in Singapore is hiking from telok blangah hill park to mount faber park via the henderson waves. I know many of the treblers love hiking and I’m sure they’ll love the views from there!

I’m also looking forward to having mala together with the cohort. I love mala and it’s a meal which is most enjoyable to have together!

Hopefully we can all join each other for an ideal day with the hike followed by mala🌟

Jodie from TREBLE batch #1 (SMU): Which places did you visit during your time in the US, and which place was your favorite?

i visited quite a few places during my time here in the states, my friends and i really tried to optimise our weekends, hopping around to visit different places. since i have family here too i spent some weekends to visit them too!!

from new york, chicago, boston, charleston, wilmington, myrtle beach, asheville, washington dc, houston, minneapolis, san diego, LA, santa monica (i probably am forgetting a few…) every place was so different and every trip was so so fun

its so hard to choose a favourite place but if i had to pick it would be california.

my cousins and aunts flew in from different parts of the states and canada to meet us, it was such a awesome family reunion. we visited my cousins college, met up with some of my friends from treble too (isabella, max and jakob), found the best hole in the wall type of food spots, ate unreal food out here (had the best oysters) and made so many memories!

a highlight would definitely be our visit to joshua tree park where i climbed rocks for the first time ever with the help of my cousin and we even went caving too! it was such a perfect mix of time with my friends as well as my family. it was definitely so cool to have my fam meet the new friends i’ve made as well!

very grateful for the experiences, people and memories i’ve made over the past semester here <3 as i’m typing this i’m still exploring new places here!!

Bertram from TREBLE batch #1 (CBS): What is your favourite food in the US, and thus a must try for the next co-hort?

I have plenty of recommendations for food to try in the US. Some of my best memories are exactly those moments where you sit around a table, enjoy a good meal, and talk about everything and nothing with your friends.

In Chapel Hill, you usually end up choosing between Chase Dining Hall and Franklin Street. Since I only went Chase once (had to try it), most of my favourite food came from Franklin Street.

The ideal day would start at Purple Bowl, continue at Roots, and end at Al’s Burger. I recommend Purple Bowl’s Vanilla Almond Bowl for breakfast, Roots’ Balboa Bowl for lunch, and Al’s Classic Burger for dinner. Definitely a must try for any upcoming Treble batch!
